Kiss All The TIme. Disco, Occasionally - Harry Styles
Harry Styles is back and it is the moment we have been waiting for. Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally will be Styles’ 4th studio album, four years after Harry’s House. It is something new for Styles and I am very excited for how everything will unfold. KATTDO or Kissco was released on March 6, 2026, it has 12 songs totaling a run time of 43 minutes. It is categorized as a Pop album, but based on what we have heard from Styles there will be a large dance and club influence on this record. A fun thing that I like to do before listening to an album is picking what I think my favorite songs are going to be based off of the title and see how right I was at the end.

Harry Styles’ Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally is not what I thought it would be. I only listened to Aperture once when it was first released and then waited for the album before listening to it again. I wanted a little taste of the album but still wanted to hear all of it in its true form, with everything together.
With Aperture being the single and the first track of the album, it sets us up with something that is completely different from what Styles has done before. It is new and exciting and it prepares the listener for a ride. As a photographer first I appreciate the use of aperture and how he is relating it back to bringing in light into life and the desire for connection. Another way the album sets up the rest of the album is Styles will pick a line, most of the time the title and repeat it over and over again, usually as the outro for a song. This is something that became a pattern to me after Ready, Steady, Go! This feels different from previous albums which did not need the repetitive lyrics to make the song “long enough.” If there is such a thing as the proper length of a song. This song feels like a call out to fans and the relationship he has with fame. “We Belong Together” seems like a reminder that he is supposed to be doing this which is something he was grappling with during the 4 years since Harry’s House. Overall, I really enjoy Aperture and this song has moved up to one of my top threes of the album.
This is a dance record and Styles has talked a lot about this being a new avenue for him. I think Styles is very successful in making an album that is explorative and different while still feeling just the slightest bit familiar. When thinking of the undergrad clubs and dance music that was the inspiration for this album I can put myself in the world that Styles is trying to create. I see the pink and blue lights in a darkened club, its patrons glittering with sweat and makeup, the highs and lows of just being. Something I noted while listening is that even though these are upbeat fast paced songs for the most part these songs feel quiet. I think I am used to a louder version of Harry Styles. This contributes to the idea that maybe we didn’t jump all the way into this new era. I also believe that Styles is an expert on choosing songs that flow together in a way that doesn’t lose interest. I did not find myself looking at how long I had left in each song. I noticed as well that Styles was “talk singing” more in this album than we have ever heard from him, which for me is a little disappointing. I think he has proven himself to make his range and vocals work for him and to hear him “slip” with that a little bit is unexpected. Something that comes across in this album is that Styles is having fun, he is a bit more adventurous and a little cheeky with lyrics. At times they can feel jumbled and not make a whole lot of sense, this can feel like a stream of consciousness rather than intentional storytelling. We see this also with the music, the music is fun and of course something you can dance to which I think was one of the major goals for the album. There is a lightness to it that is much appreciated.
After listening, I do have a new list of my top three songs from the album and an honorable mention. I will be taking you through these and why I feel these are some of the best songs on the album. Starting off strong with Coming Up Roses. This is reminiscent of the Harry Styles ballad we have all come to know and love. The strings, the strings, the strings. This is the moment in the night where things slow all the way down, a breather outside, a bathroom break with your friends or someone you’re seeing. Styles said in an interview with Zane Lowe that it is about the beauty in realizing that not everything has to last forever. And that even if it doesn’t the experience isn’t any less special or valuable. The embracing of impermanence. It speaks to the greater club scene that you will go home at the end of the night and no other night out will be like the one you experienced. It is a beautiful song and it makes me very emotional. Number two on my list is Aperture. Yes, the single and first song of the album. What can I say he came out swinging! This one is really fun, loud and definitely something I could see myself listening to on a regular basis. It is such a wonderful start and kicks off the beginning of our night so well, starting low and slow then building to its final form. We do belong together. The third and last track from the top three is Taste Back. I loved the lyrics in this one especially despite them being repetitive. We’re a little petty and we’re having fun. I really enjoyed the sound of this one as well and felt that it showcased Styles’ vocals really nicely.
Overall, I really enjoyed Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally. It is an album I can see myself coming back to. This album feels like Styles but in a whole new way. I am interested to hear and see how his tour will be. And since we are visual artists over here at Moonlight, I have to talk about the visuals that go along with Kissco. The album art is very different from what we have seen for Styles. It seems as though he has left the set and gone on location for these high contrast photos. The disco ball behind him, the big bright flash that he is shielding himself from all seem to be a part of the core message of Kissco. This is further emphasized by the two music videos we have for Aperture and American Girls. The rigidness of the square font to the spiral themes we see on the cover and lyric videos. The back and forth, the love hate, the desire of wanting to try something new, and that things aren’t always what they seem.
